The 2021 Komen New Jersey MORE THAN PINK Walk is only weeks away on Sunday, October 3! As we lead up to the event, join us for a fun-packed Power of ONE Week starting on Sunday, September 26, 2021. Let’s see the impact ONE week can make in our mission to end breast cancer!

We have loads of fun activities planned to prepare for the big day. To get ready, download your Power of ONE Week BINGO Card, then, each day from September 26 to October 2, pledge to take ONE more action and fill in your Komen Bingo card along the way.

We have some exclusive activities planned for our walk participants this year.

We hope you’ll join us for:

ONE Mission Monday — Take a virtual journey to learn about Komen’s 360° approach to ending breast cancer and focus areas — research, care, community and action. At the end, you’ll have an opportunity to share what you’ve learned through social media — this is a great way to encourage some last-minute donations to your fundraiser.

My ONE Tuesday — Share your reason for walking by posting a photo and a story of why you are participating in the 2021 Komen New Jersey MORE THAN PINK Walk on your social media pages! Include a link to your fundraising page and use #PowerofONEWeek or #ONEKomen. Your photo will appear on our Photo Wall! Need some inspiration? Hear why metastatic inflammatory breast cancer thriver, Beth Porreca, walks for Susan G. Komen.

ONE Community Wednesday — Memories are made around great meals, so rally your community and invite your friends and family to make a donation to your fundraiser. In return for their donation, you’ll share your favorite go-to recipe! Need some recipe inspiration? Check out some of Komen’s favorites. If you’d like to host an in-person or virtual get-together, we also have some conversation cards to aid you in sharing about Komen’s mission. Looking for some healthy tips? Celebrate ONE Thursday — It’s time to party! Take a moment to celebrate your donors, supporters and loved ones who are helping you get ONE step closer to your fundraising goal. Get together with your team and hand out your commemorative Walk t-shirts for those who have raised $100!

ONE Friday Funday — Let’s see your pink tutus, boas, vintage event accessories — we want it all. Create a “Dare Me to Wear” fundraising challenge by posting your wild pinked-out look and tell your friends and family that you’ll wear it while you walk if you reach your fundraising goal by the end of the day.

What are we doing to stay safe at the Walk?

Everyone who attends the Walk in-person at Six Flags Great Adventure can expect an experience similar to events we’ve hosted in the past, with a few safety and comfort adjustments.

Tents & Spacing: Tents will have appropriate spacing on event day to allow proper social distancing while visiting sponsors and vendors. Teams that earn a spot in the Ray Catena VIP Party Area will have a designated, fenced-off, open-air and socially distanced space for team members to gather near the stage. Additionally, the Hope Village will also be in the open air and fenced off, with smaller tents used where food and gifts will be available.

Walk Routes: Participants can choose to complete a 1-mile or 2.5-mile route. Each route travels a different direction to minimize crowds and encourage social distancing.

Food Handling: ShopRite has donated packaged food that will be available for pick up at the VIP area and Hope Village tents.

If state guidance regarding Covid-19 safety protocols for event gatherings change, we have prepared plans to shift the Walk to a local parade, featuring decorated vehicles and a designated area for attendees to meet sponsors, pick up t-shirts and take photos together. Komen staff will provide an update on the number of expected attendees for the in-person Walk and final plans by September 27, 2021, at 12 p.m. EDT.
