With 2022 coming to an end (can you believe it?!) — we want to say THANK YOU! THANK YOU for committing your time and energy to planning your phenomenal fundraisers and THANK YOU for supporting Susan G. Komen’s mission. We appreciate all of your hard work and determination in helping to end breast cancer. Because of the funds you raised, we have been able to expand our mission services, launch our Screening & Diagnostics program, help even more people, and make a bigger impact!

We would not be able to do this without YOU. Once again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We look forward to an impactful 2023!

Here are a few of the wonderful fundraising events that were held in communities across New Jersey and Pennsylvania!

Lax For The Cure began in 2007 after three mothers of STEPS Lacrosse, LLC Club were diagnosed with breast cancer. Each year they host a summer and fall tournament with girls from around the country fundraising for a cure! This year they have raised over $460,000 bringing their lifetime total to over $4 MILLION!!

Save a Pair , PA State Shotgunning Association— The 9th Annual 2022 Save A Pair for Breast Cancer Awareness Annual 50 bird trapshooting fundraiser benefiting Susan G. Komen raised $56,800.00 for Susan G. Komen ~ PA. Setting a new record! The 2022 Check Presentation Ceremony took place Saturday, July 30 at the PSSA — Pennsylvania State Shotgunning Association.

First Quality Consumer Products hosted their annual Breast Cancer Awareness Shirt Design Contest raising nearly $17,000!! Members of the First Quality family created their own t-shirt designs and voted on their favorite design! Thank you Team First Quality for helping to create a world without breast cancer!

Rolling Green Golf Club hosted their annual golf outting to support Susan G. Komen in May! Inviting men to join them on May 21 and women to join on May 26 — a great time for everyone! In addition to an amazing day of golf, Rolling Green Golf Club had an incredible raffle including a driver, painting by a local artist, pro shop giftcard, private golf lessons, and more! The golf club was able to raise over $ 5400 towards the fight against breast cancer! We cannot wait to see what they do next year!

Pink Ribbons of Central Jersey host multiple events throughout the year including a breakfast at Applebees in Manalapan and an annual walk in their neighborhood of Marlboro, NJ.

US Steel Corporate Match — US Steel, Irvin Works Plant, donated $6,000 in matching funds to Pittsburgh’s MORE THAN PINK WALK Team “Women of Steel” Working together US Steel employee & Team Captain, Keli Vereb was able to raise over $12,000. Thank you US Steel for leading the way in matching funds in the Pittsburgh region!

Pink Ribbon Softball, Inc. held its 17th Annual Pink Tournament this September! The Pink Tournament is a youth fastpitch charity softball tournament for girls in 8U to 18U categories. Their tournament and Pink party raised $55,000!!!!

Raven Moreno, Development Manager — New Jersey, receives a $55,000 check from Pink Ribbon Softball and celebrates with the girls!

Mars Area School District — HATS for HEROES- Mars Area School District kicked off National Breast Cancer Awareness Month with their annual fundraiser “Hats for Heroes” this fundraiser has a 20+ year history and this year they created a team so their fundraising can continue until the 2023 Pittsburgh MORE TAHN PINK Walk on May 14, 2023. So far Team MASD Team Hats for Heroes has raised $6,219 and counting!

Gensler’s Golf for the Cure — Raising $60,000, design firm, Gensler, of Morristown, NJ held their 12th Golf for the Cure this year, an 18-hole scramble that incorporates closest to the pin and longest drive contests followed by a themed Pink! Party. The event was abuzz with networking, dinner and drinks, and raffles! Since their first event in 2006, Gensler has raised over $430,000 towards breast cancer!!

Demountable Concepts and MyGlassTruck.com raised approximately $15,000 in their “Nice Rack” campaign — for every glass rack sold MyGlassTruck.com donated to Susan G. Komen — New Jersey! This campaign has been running since September 2011!

Alteryx raised an incredible $1,050 during their ‘Beer and Analytics’ event! They donated $50 for every person who registered for the 2023 East PA MORE THAN PINK Walk!

Burns Scalo Real Estate Rose Soirée —2022 BURGH BigWig and Burns Scalo Brand Ambassador, Pamela Austin, hosted the Rose Soiree in Burns Scalo’s new Life Sciences Building “The Riviera”. Tenants include UPMC Hillman Cancer Institute, as well as BlueSphere Bio and Novasenta. Pamela raised a total of $8,942!

Laser and Skin Institute is a dermatologist office that is dedicated to the medical, surgical, and cometic concerns of their patients. They are in Chatham, NJ and hosted a fundraiser during the month of October for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Laser and Skin Institute donated $3,500!!!

TRAC Intermodal, Inc. donated $10,000 in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Every year employees and leadership of TRAC come together to honor those that are battling breast cancer

Mindy Aunkst raised over $600 towards her MORE THAN PINK Walk fundraising for her Carnations and Confections Against Cancer Event at Fresh Market Hershey Towne Square!

2nd Annual BURGH BigWigs — Congratulations Michele Belice, Howard Hanna Real Estate, for being crowned the Biggest Wig in the BURGH for the 2nd year in a row. Michele raised an outstanding $21,246 in just 31 days!!

PBA Local 158 — for the 2nd year running, Point Pleasant Borough Police Department in NJ decked out their SUV cruiser in bright pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month and made a generous donation of $2,000! This generous effort started last year when Police Officer Jim Kavanagh said he approached police Chief Robert M. Lokerson with the idea because both his wife and bother are breast cancer survivors, and they wanted to give back.

Indian Hills High School located in Oakland, NJ hosted their annual powderpuff game in November and raised $1,100! The students had a great time playing the game and brought awareness to their school.

IBEW Local 827 hosted a DIY fundraiser during the month of October in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. They had bracelets made and wanted to support those they know fighting breast cancer. They were sporting them all month, their efforts raised $1,660!

Wyckoff Torpedoes players raised $1,500 for breast cancer through their special pink jersey fundraiser! For each jersey sold, the club donated $5 to Susan G. Komen.

We came together for the first time in years for our 2022 Pennsylvania MORE THAN PINK WALKs! We doubled our impact from the year before with more people raising even more funds for Komen’s mission, nearly $600,000!!! Congratulations again to all of our top fundraisers! Thank you to all who participated and supported!

We are excited to be in-person again on Mother’s Day, May 14, 2023 at Parx Casino outside of Philadelphia, PA and at Schenley Park in Pittsburgh, PA!

We were back together again for the 2022 NJ MORE THAN PINK Walk at Six Flags Great Adventure on Sunday, October 2nd. Together we raised over $680,000! Thank you to all who attended, and congratulations to the top fundraisers!

Save the date for our 2023 MORE THAN PINK Walk on Saturday, October 7 at Six Flags Great Adventure! Registration opens April 1!

150 golfers came together again on Columbus Day and raised $240,000 at the 23rd Annual Golf for the Cure sponsored by Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey. Since its debut in 2000, Golf for the Cure has raised $3 million and counting! We are looking forward to another successful event on October 9 at Metedeconk National Golf Club in 2023!
